ABSTRACT

Prospective memory has recently been receiving a lot of attention among psychologists

(Brandimonte, Einstein, & McDaniel, 1996). The interest in prospective memory reflects

a trend in psychology to investigate more “real-world” phenomena. For the ACT-R

theory (Anderson & Lebiere, 1998), the importance of prospective memory research is

clear. First, as a unified theory of cognition, especially with its roots in human memory,

the ACT-R theory must endeavor to account for the results from this body of research.
