ABSTRACT
The experimental subjects (Ss) were given the task of “surviving” on an island. They
were required to control the behaviour of a robotvehicle, capable of moving and
manipulating objects. As the vehicle is powered by a steam-engine the “navigators” have
to provide for “food” (i.e. fuel in the form of sunflower seeds or hazelnuts) and water.
