ABSTRACT
Argumentation is an extremely powerful and valuable cultural practice that has fallen on hard times. In the course of this book, I attempt to explain why this has happened. My hope is that the approach to argumentation developed here will help to revitalize this valuable practice and restore it to a place of prominence.
