ABSTRACT

If you were to take a few minutes and browse some of the college newspapers available on the Web, you would discover that the diver sity of subjects and approaches to feature articles is not much differ ent than those of professional publications. Student feature writers produce stories about campus leaders, award winners, long lines, an unusual research study being conducted, film festivals, new CDs, and even the weather. Some of these are tough stories and require a level of subject expertise or some writing and reporting experience to be done well. Others are straightforward and perfect opportunities for a beginning feature writer.
