ABSTRACT

I personally find models to be useful ways to organize my own understanding of the dynamics of a system. This chapter describes the construction of the model I presented in the first chapter. The theories presented in the previous chapters provide the philosophical and theoretical foundation for this model. This chapter gives the reader an opportunity to judge whether I have successfully supported the model. This teaching model was informed by a transactional constructivist perspective on learning. The model was derived from the theories presented in previous chapters and the work of several other constructivist model builders, A good part of the model was constructed from Edelson’s (2001) “learning-foruse” model.
