ABSTRACT

Researchers are interested in the degree of rater agreement, in the effects of covariates, in the comparison of groups of objects, or in the comparisons of raters and groups of raters. The resulting statements are general in the sense that they refer to parameters that describe agreement and the structure of agreement in general. Configural Frequency Analysis is a method for the exploration of cross-classifications. CFA chance models reflect assumptions that are contradicted by the existence of types and antitypes. Such a null model, in the context of CFA termed zero order CFA base model, takes no information into account that goes beyond the sample size. It illustrate the statements that can be made based on CFA as compared to the application of coefficients and models of rater agreement. In the exploratory analysis of stratified rater agreement, a number of base models can be considered.
