ABSTRACT

The foundation of the screenplay will be solid and secure and won't collapse if one builds a strong structure. As one start to write their story they will then relate each scene they write to this story structure by asking themselves if the scene they are about to write is connected to it. The main character must always have a goal he or she desperately wants to reach. By giving the main character a desperate goal to reach they will get the audience's interest, and hold it until the end of the film. The reason for writing this particular story is made known through the main character. The ending of the screenplay is known as the climax. In a romantic comedy adapted from Helen Fielding's popular novel of the same name, Bridget Jones's Diary, Bridget, slightly overweight, in her thirties and insecure, desperately falls in love with her boss, Daniel, a charming and dashing man.
