ABSTRACT

The focus for this chapter is a citywide project, a long-term and large-scale program, aimed at improving the educational system in Acre, a mixed Arab and Jewish city. This chapter describes the background of Acre, the meaning of coex istence and partnership, and the community project conducted there, in the course of which many Arab-Jewish partnerships were formed. The chapter also describes the Schools' Forum of Principals and its contribution to coexistence and partner ship between Jews and Arabs in the city of Acre from 1995 to 2000, the years in which .the program took place.
