ABSTRACT

The group of children is gathered around a large sheet of paper, using pencils and colorful markers to put their memories on the page. There is a buzz of excited conversation as this mixed age ‘family grouping’ of elementary students record their experiences from the beginning of the year. Several of the younger children lie on their bellies and draw, while an older boy prepares an elaborate title using ‘bubble letters’ at the top of the page. Another student writes, “I ramembr when….”
