Books come rolling off the presses, and people are reading them. It is now possible for anyone with a computer to desktop publish his own book. Perhaps there will only be a few copies turned out by the local copy center for the immediate family, or maybe a dozen or so to be sent to publishers who will make the author immediately rich and famous. That this doesn’t happen hardly stems the flow of homemade books.
