ABSTRACT

Good children’s literature provides excellent resources to introduce, enrich, and expandunderstanding of concepts in the curriculumat every grade level. Well-written fiction and nonfiction books, either read aloud or available to students for independent reading, add richness to the way students see the world and the manner in which they speak and write. To provide students with the best possible associations with literature, it is important to select a wide variety of books from the best examples of all the genres.
