ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses entirely on a decade of legal battles that would redefine the shape of American telecommunications—with ramifications still being worked out early in the 21st century. At the end of this decade (1974–84), the unified and long-dominant Bell System would cease to exist, creating a wholly different industry structure.
