ABSTRACT

Although varied research directions have pointed to the utility of the current conceptual position, there is much room for conducting research that is explicitly based on this conceptualization. Thus, in this chapter, I present a study I conducted to discern how independence and interdependence are particularized in late adolescent self-constructions. More specifically, the current conceptual framework leads to investigating how late adolescent self-constructions reflect multifaceted and interrelated cultural independence and interdependence meanings.
