ABSTRACT
Virtually every community has counseling services directed to those choosing, preparing for, adjusting to, readjusting to, or dealing with employment, unemployment, and related issues. Several of these services are government sponsored, and often they are mandated by specific legislation. Other services are embedded in human resource management programs in workplaces, subcontracted to counselors in independent practice, or provided by independent practitioners on a fee-for-service basis.
