ABSTRACT

The detection and measurement of the antigen-antibody binding reactions serve as the bases of forensic serology. These assays fall into two categories: primary and secondary binding assays. The primary binding assays are the most sensitive. The secondary assays consist of precipitation-based and agglutination-based assays. Precipitation-based assays are usually used for species identification while agglutination-based assays are normally applied to blood group typing.
