ABSTRACT

American companies for decades have been searching for the management “silver bullet” for getting out of trouble or for making their organization great. ˜e textbooks are many. We discovered it took several “silver bullets” or recipes from our case studies to nd the level of success we were looking for. ˜is is not to say there is a shortage of recipes and ingredients. Our goal was to look for the gold nuggets among the common recipes across the three companies, then the action ingredients in support of each recipe. ˜e ingredients are the action steps that make the recipe work. Without the ingredients, the recipe is just the name of a result. We tried to provide the clear, consistent recipes and ingredients that you could duplicate or integrate into your own company and culture. ˜e single silver bullet is a myth only to be found in the old Lone Ranger days.
