ABSTRACT

Most behavioral expectations are clarified and set at the local level just prior to starting a Lean implementation; however, an acceptable overall organizational framework for those expectations needs to be set prior to meeting with frontline physicians. ‘e organizational effort here is akin to defining the boundaries of the playing field with the definitions of what goes on in the field of play held primarily at the local level. Senior physician leaders as well as frontline physicians recognized as thought leaders should participate on the team creating the organizational expectations.
