ABSTRACT

Cooperative learning is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, educational innovations of our time. It has permeated all levels of teacher training from preservice to inservice. It has been estimated that as of 2005 more that 30,000 teachers and would-be teachers have been trained at the Minneapolis-based Cooperative Learning Center alone. And cooperative learning is not a peculiarly American educational phenomenon. It is touted from Israel to New Zealand, from Sweden to Japan.
