ABSTRACT
Here, we will consider the concept of legal liability as compared with moral responsibility. The concepts of personality, status and capacity will also be considered, together with limitations on capacity due to age, mental state and the liability of corporations. Liability in criminal law and in the tort of negligence, together with the sanctions and remedies in criminal and civil law, will be mentioned. Other concepts such as strict and vicarious liability will be noted. We will start by considering the distinction between legal and moral responsibility.
