ABSTRACT
Doping control raises many emotive issues, upon which there will inevitably be diverse views. What must surely be common ground is that any set of doping control rules has to be built on sound foundations. In particular, the rules need to recognise the principles of natural justice (of which more later) and, in addition, the procedures must be such as to produce fair and consistent outcomes.
