ABSTRACT

For the second time, the team from the TC Beirne School of Law, The University of Queensland won the prestigious Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot on 20 April 2000 in Vienna, Austria. Willem C Vis (1924-93) was a world-recognised expert in international commercial transactions and dispute settlement procedures. The University of Queensland was one of 79 law schools throughout the world invited to participate in the Moot. The team consisted of Sophie Devitt, Thomas Jens John, Sarah Holland, Kateena O’Gorman, and Andrew Stumer. They were coached by Garrick Professor Gabriël A Moens. This year, the School’s Willem C Vis team was generously sponsored by Corrs Chambers Westgarth.
