ABSTRACT

Day two begins by introducing the trainees to the distinction between positions and interests, and to the idea of win/win solutions. The trainers demonstrate the mediation process in a brief roleplay, and then the trainees begin to learn the stages of the process one at a time. During this day they would roleplay stage one, first contact with the first party, and stage two, first contact with the second party, as well as looking at perceptions and prejudices, and what effective doorstep technique is.
