You should attend court with enough time to allow you to meet your client and your opponent as there are often new developments or settlement proposals in these cases. If there is a family court reporter, confirm with your opponent that there is no objection to your discussing the case with the family court reporter, or talk to them together. If there are any new developments or settlement proposals discuss them with the family court reporter.
