ABSTRACT

An appointment card could be issued to the client at the beginning of the case with details of the next meeting. The group secretary will complete the appointment card with the client before he leaves the office and diarise it in the group office diary. The appointment card will be updated as the case progresses. The reverse side of the appointment card contains useful information about the firm so that the client will keep it with him at all times, such as telephone number, an emergency contact number and so on

After the case has been finished, the appointment card can be used or reissued where appropriate for a ‘legal checkup’ in three, six or 12 months time. This helps to maintain contact with the client and keeps the service going even though on hold.
