ABSTRACT

In 1994, the NCC published a report called Solicitors and Client Care which contained a number of recommendations based on the research behind the report. The contentious part of the report was whether these recommendations should be made mandatory and prescriptive. Whether they are made mandatory or not, it must be obvious to any business manager that if firms do not provide good service, they will decline and perhaps even go out of business. In this the clients and the market will be the final arbiters. Clients can legislate for client care here in their own way, with their feet.
