ABSTRACT

The leg should be inspected, and the following things noted: (a) the presence of veins; (b) the position of these veins in relation to the front or the back of the leg; (c) the presence or absence of colour changes; (d) the presence or absence of skin changes around the lower part of the leg; (e) any previous scars; and (f) whether there is any apparent deformity of one or other leg.
