ABSTRACT

You should telephone, write or fax to your opponent and the court a list of the cases on which you intend to rely in the case. Usually, this is done the night before or the morning of the case. In general, the onus is on the claimant or appellant to send his or her list first. Use the official law reports (that is,AC, QB, Ch, ICR) when a case is reported in those reports, and the Weekly Law Reports,All England Reports or specialist reports only when it is not so reported. Hand in a legible list of authorities to the court usher in good time before the hearing. If possible, provide an indexed photocopied bundle of authorities.
