2.8 AGREEING FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS Your client wants child maintenance from the absent parent

In this case, there is nothing that you can agree with the absent parent as the matter is automatically in the hands of the Child Support Agency (CSA). If she has not been contacted by the CSA already, your client should make sure that she completes the relevant form provided by the DSS. She is obliged to give the CSA information about the absent parent unless to do so would cause her or the child serious harm.
