German civil procedure (‘Zivilprozeß’) is based on the ‘Zivilprozeßordnung’ (ZPO; Civil Procedure Order/Code of Civil Procedure) of 30.1.1877, as re-enacted on 12.9.1950 and variously amended since that date.
