ABSTRACT
This Act has radically changed both public and private child law. It has abolished the concepts of custody, care and control and access, and replaced them with those of residence and contact, specific issue and prohibited steps orders under s 8 of the Act, and a new concept of PR. There have also been changes in public law. This has created a new approach to child disputes.
