In a similar vein, the Better Regulation Task Force4 recommended that Acas should pilot a mediation service for companies with fewer than 50 employees. As with the voluntary arbitration service recommended by the Task Force, presumably the applicant will still be permitted to pursue a tribunal application if mediation fails, and there will need to be safeguards to deal with time limits.
