ABSTRACT
The judges and the executive in the separation of powers have distinct but interrelated roles in the constitution. The question arises as to the extent to which the courts can act to control the activities of the executive through the operation of judicial review. The position of the present Lord Chancellor as judge and member of the government has been questioned by some.
