ABSTRACT

Choosing a snappy name is only half the story. You must also make sure you are allowed to use that name. Here is your checklist. A company name: ❍ must have the word ‘limited’ at the end of it

(though there are exceptions for certain non-profitmaking companies which do not have shares – see p 12);

I f the company’s registered office is in Wales you can use ‘Cyfyngedig’ instead of Limited, but in that case you must (for the benefit of non-Welsh speakers) state in English on the company’s stationery and nameplate that the company is limited. There is no similar provision for Gaelic.
