ABSTRACT
The DIY boom of the 1980s and some civil disobedience by large stores saw the demise of Sunday closing. The Sunday Trading Act 1994 allowed shops lawfully to open on a Sunday. Most, but not all, shops now open on Sunday – so the scramble to find one that would sell you mustard under the counter has ended. What protection exists for those who may be obliged to work on a Sunday?
