ABSTRACT

Charges are known to have been brought or suspects identified in 94 (79 per cent) of the 118 deaths among sex workers referred to in the previous chapter. Information about suspects has been derived from the same sources mentioned above (Chapter 13,pages 162-4) and is available for 100 suspects in relation to the 94 deaths. Some of these suspects have been acquitted of homicide or not brought to trial, and it should be remembered that convictions referred to below may be overturned in future. 1 In three cases, although the identity of the suspects is not known, it is known that they were clients and descriptions are available for two of them, which allows for their inclusion in aspects of the following analysis.
