ABSTRACT

This chapter continues the narrative according to the timeline of developments around community restorative justice in Northern Ireland. As was mentioned in the previous chapter, the possibilities of a formal partnership with the police seemed a distant prospect at the end of the first period of fieldwork in July 2007. By December of that year, however, both projects had received official accreditation, opening up the prospect of a working partnership with the police for the first time. Hence, the discussions around community-police partnerships have consciously been left to the final chapter of the book, reflecting the order of developments as they took place on the ground.
