ABSTRACT
As mentioned in the previous chapter, the presentation of what later came to be called the London Declaration was staged in the London School of Economics on 1 April 2004. The event was chaired and moderated by the highly regarded LSE professor Dr. David Held, with Federico Mayor, Mary Robinson and Josep Xercavins also taking part. Boutros Boutros Ghali was also to have been there, though he was unable to attend in the end for pressing personal reasons. However, he did film a video address for the event, the text of which we naturally reprint here.
