ABSTRACT
Traditional roof materials tend to bake in the sun, heating up to temperatures of 50–90°C (150–190°F). Hot roof materials create problems for the buildings beneath them, including:
hotter indoor temperatures
reduced indoor comfort
more energy used for cooling
more money spent on utility bills
more wear on cooling systems
faster deterioration of the roof.
