ABSTRACT

New technological developments usually require a set of supporting measures to enable them to emerge from the research and prototype stages to become competitive products for sale in larger quantities on the open market. In most cases these measures are set up by government bodies in order to achieve certain goals that these technologies may support. Renewable energy systems (RES) are one option to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and thus support the efforts of most countries’ governments to decrease the speed of climate change. This chapter introduces the various support measures for bioenergy projects and provides detailed contacts and links where further information on national support measures can be found.
