ABSTRACT
What lessons can we learn for elsewhere? What do these ordinary and everyday stories tell us about practice? What do they explain or confirm about process and about governance? Where is practice best placed, driven as it is by need and the imperative of rights, to connect practical work with strategic work, freedom with order, small-scale organizations with large-scale organizations, top-down coordination and bottom-up design?
