ABSTRACT
Studies suggest that residential and commercial buildings are responsible for about 30 per cent of the greenhouse gas emissions of countries belonging to the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) countries. 1 Actions aimed at reducing emissions from buildings depend not only on climate, building type and level of economic development, but also on lifestyle, energy sources availability and structure of the local energy system.
