ABSTRACT
There are now few parts of the world that are entirely homogeneous, while an increasing number of urban communities now routinely comprise dozens of different groups in visible numbers. Major cities are now ‘world cities’ inasmuch as they are becoming microcosms of the world in all its teeming diversity.
