Review of major initiatives and institutional policies for malaria control

Over the past 50 years, the major concepts and strategies underlying global malaria control efforts have undergone a series of changes. The principal initiatives and institutional policies of malaria control in the modern era are summarized below and provide the framework within which the main recommendations of the Working Group on Malaria were developed.
