ABSTRACT
‘The world is too much with us’, as William Wordsworth wrote in the 19th century, and today global problems seem to be crowding in on us more than ever. Issues that we collect under the term ‘globalization’ include international trade and financial transactions, instantaneous and seemingly open exchange of information and messages, infectious diseases, terrorism, and environmental problems – including climate change.
