ABSTRACT
This chapter provides an overview of a number of cities around the world that are achieving significant gains in the endeavour towards more sustainable transportation. It highlights some of their most significant achievements and also some ways in which they are doing this.1 Where possible, some recent and previously unpublished research results of trends in cities in transportationrelated indicators are presented to highlight, more generally, the success or
otherwise of the world’s cities towards becoming more sustainable in transportation.2
