ABSTRACT
The preceding chapters have described the energy transition needed to prevent catastrophic climate change and the most cost-effective policies needed to bring this transition about. Legitimate concerns have been raised about the economic consequences of these policies: their impacts on energy prices, on employment, on consumers, on industries and on prospects for future gains in living standards. What is known about these issues?
