ABSTRACT

The Sun is our most ancient and sustainable source of energy. A star measuring 1,390,000km across, it is more than a hundred times wider than the Earth. Essentially a gigantic nuclear reactor, the Sun generates tremendous amounts of radiant energy through fusion, which changes hydrogen to helium. From its safe location of 150,000,000km from the Earth, the Sun has been sending energy freely to the Earth day after day, season after season, year after year, for billions of years, sustaining life on this planet. The Sun is the energy source that connects all life. It is the elemental source of our unity, diversity and sustainability.3 The Sun is the source of the solar system of which we all are a part.
