ABSTRACT
There is renewed concern about the oil running out - peak oil. The party is over. Have we reached the point of no return? Is this also true of all of the other resources that we are using? Will we ever run out of copper, tin, gold or trees, and if so when? This chapter will attempt to answer these questions, but in so doing we will see that there are no simple answers. The reason for this is that people are not asking the right questions.
