ABSTRACT
Society makes several requirements of power generation systems. Perhaps the most important are:
• secure supplies of electricity; • cheap supplies of electricity; • environmentally acceptable supplies of energy; • socially acceptable supplies of electricity, that is safe, not detrimental to
health, and consistent with the desire to protect certain communities associated with one fuel or another.
