Previous page: Girls' toilet block in a village school in Casamance, Senegal. The blocks are designed so that girls enter and then turn in to the toilet – more dignified than opening the door to the world. There are no roofs: during seasonal torrential rains when school is closed, the blocks receive a thorough drenching.
